Maple Leafs Zine
I designed a zine about the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team over a semester, printing and binding the piece by the end of the project.
In my final semester I was tasked with choosing a topic to design a zine around. The idea for this project came from my love/hate relationship with the Toronto Maple Leafs. If you are a fan yourself, you understand. I began by ideating the zine's basic information, such as the tone, audience, publishing rate and so on. These factors are crucial in informing how the design should be. Once I had nailed down the background information, I began by building out a style guide and determining design rules to follow. Once the basic design rules were layed out, I began sourcing articles from fan-focussed news outlets and images from NHL databases. From this point on I developed the flatplan and began designing pages. Finally, I printed the project to present in class and talk about design choices and the idea for the zine as a whole.
Let's work together!
I'm currently looking for full time opportunities.
